Coffee and tea are widely consumed globally, local style milk tea is undeniably one of the signature delicacies, yet the coffee culture has bloomed and become more popular in recent years. Are you really aware of the caffeine it contains?

Caffeine is naturally found in coffee beans, tea leaves, cocoa beans, cola nuts and guarana, which belongs to a methylxanthine in plants. Therefore coffee is not the only source for caffeine, food products and beverages made with these ingredients contain a certain amount of caffeine.

💡Friendly Reminder

Caffeine has the ability to stimulate the central nervous system, resulting in an enhancement of mental alertness. Since the reaction and tolerance of the effect of caffeine varies among individuals, we should be aware of daily caffeine intake. Particularly pregnant and lactating women are advised to limit daily caffeine intake to no more than 200-300mg, while no more than 2.5-5mg per kg body weight for children.
