很多人看到希臘乳酪跟希臘式乳酪都以爲是差不多的東西,但其實兩者不論在營養或製作方法方面都有很大的分別。


希臘乳酪是從經過水分(和其他液體)和乳清過濾而成。大概3-4杯山羊、羊或牛奶做一杯希臘乳酪,因此蛋白質含量較高,可達至一般乳酪的兩倍。

而希臘式乳酪則是從普通乳酪加入添加劑例如稠濃劑和蛋白粉來模仿希臘乳酪,這些添加劑會令碳水化合物和糖分含量上升,天然的蛋白質亦會比希臘乳酪少。


雖然希臘乳酪的價格較高,但它絕對是比希臘式乳酪為更好的選擇,因爲希臘乳酪是純天然的,沒有任何添加劑,有機脫脂希臘乳酪更被認為是最健康食品之一。所以吃希臘乳酪,尤其是對乳糖不耐症患者,是非常好的蛋白質來源。

【Distinguish between Greek Yoghurt and Greek Style Yoghurt 】


Many may think that Greek yoghurt and Greek style yoghurt are comparable. In fact, the 2 of them are different in terms of nutrition and manufacturing process.


Greek yoghurt is made by eliminating water (and other liquid) and whey. Approximately 3-4 cups of goat, sheep or cow milk are used to make a cup of Greek yoghurt, resulting in the high protein content which can be up to two times of regular yoghurt.

Greek style yoghurt is made by adding additives such as thickener and protein powder to regular yoghurt to imitate Greek yoghurt. These additives cause carbohydrates and sugar level to rise, while having a lower natural protein content than Greek yoghurt.


Although Greek yoghurt is usually more expensive, it is considered as a better choice than Greek style yoghurt since it is from all-natural ingredients and free from additives. Organic non-fat Greek yoghurt is even included as one of the healthiest foods. Therefore eating Greek yoghurt, especially for lactose intolerance patients, is a very good source of protein.
