【What vegan mooncake can I choose?】
Mid-autumn festival is coming! After our introduction to the nutrition values of traditional mooncakes last time, do you want to try some other healthier options instead of traditional mooncakes? Vegan mooncakes are very popular lately and as more flavours are being introduced, they attracted many people to try.
Vegan mooncakes use plant elements to replace traditional ingredients which are relatively unhealthy. For example, canola oil and other vegetable oils are used to replace lard, maltitol to replace refined sugars, and fruits, nuts and other seed fillings to replace egg yolk, etc. Thus, the calories and sugar level would be lower than traditional mooncakes.
Yet, it is still important to pay attention to the portion taken. Limit your intake to no more than ¼ mooncake per day to avoid over absorption of calories.
