【The Showdown of Ice Cream】
It already sounds refreshing to have ice cream on a hot summer day, while the contained ingredients and nutrients may well become another concern to these tempting ice cream.
According to the "Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations" of the Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety, ice cream is defined in the following 3 points:
🔸The fat content must not be less than 5%
🔸Sugar content must not be less than 10%
🔸The content of milk solids other than fat must not be less than 7.5%
Ice cream is not considered as a nutritious food, so it is suggested to choose ice cream products with a shorter ingredient list, which has cream, milk and egg yolk at the front. Avoid ice cream made with artificial ingredients such as milk powder or glucose syrup
